A Home Away From Home For Your Pet
We know that leaving your pet when you have to go away is never easy, especially if they are unwell, or if they are recovering from a procedure or surgery. At Wiggins Veterinary Hospital, our goal is to put your mind at ease.
We offer complete general pet boarding services with veterinary staff on site for all of our animal patients and medical boarding services for pets with conditions that standard boarding centers may not be equipped to accommodate.
Pet Boarding: A Typical Day
Dog Boarding
Our canine guests start each day with some time outside for fresh air before breakfast. While they are outside, their kennels are cleaned, disinfected, and stocked with fresh linens.
Depending on their physical capacity and ability, we will walk the dogs who stay with us on a regular schedule.
We also ensure that the pets in our care are supervised at all times. In the evening, dinner is served, and then we have one last walk before bedtime.
Cat Boarding
Your feline friend will be fed according to your specifications and their requirements. We do everything we can to maintain their regular at-home routine.
For the cats that love attention, we offer frequent interactions, including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned, and disinfected periodically throughout the day.
We will change the linens in your cat's room each day to keep things fresh. Our cat boarding area is separated from the dog area to ensure your kitty feels relaxed and safe while they stay with us.
Medical Boarding
If your pet has medical needs, they will be under the supervision of our veterinary professionals, who will administer medications and watch over them closely. Any required medications will be administered to your pet on the same schedule that is used at home.

- What time should I drop off and pick up my pet?
All pets need to be dropped off or picked up during our regular office hours. We highly recommend making reservations, especially for holidays and summer weekends. During these times, we recommend that you call two to three weeks in advance to increase the chance that we have availability.

We will be glad to administer your pet's medications while they stay at our facility.
- Can I get updates about my pet during their stay?
Yes, you are welcome to give us a call at any time if you'd like to check in. If there are any issues, we will contact you via the emergency contact information you provide.
- How should I prepare for my pet's stay?
Each pet has different needs and feels differently about being away from home. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.
Step 1: Contact us to get started
Contact us to book your pet in for boarding and to discuss details about your pet and their boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to coordinate your booking.
Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.
Step 2: Book a trial stay
We want to make sure that your pet will feel comfortable with our team and that we are a good fit for your pet before an extended stay. The trial stay consists of a full day of daycare where we will assess your pet's temperament and ensure that they like us as much as we like them!
Step 3: Set your pet up for success
On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few things you can do to help your pet feel relaxed.
Give your pet some good cuddles and lots of playtime beforehand so that they are feeling relaxed. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful, and confident during the drop-off.
- What do you feed animals that don't have their own food?
For pets not on a special diet, or if you have not brought their own food, we can provide high-quality pet food that is appropriate for the size and breed of your pet. An additional fee may apply.
